Why are there no mushrooms?

why are there no mushrooms

There are no mushrooms in the forest because everything has already been stolen before us. It's humor, of course. In fact, it is not for nothing that the people say: “He who loves to bow will not be left without prey.” To collect a full basket of mushrooms, you need to look carefully, carefully, or even better – prepare in advance, because each mushroom also chooses its own 'living space' for a reason.

You will never find porcini mushrooms in a newly planted grove. Why?

White mushroom loves old (over 50 years old) noble forests (oak, pine, birch).

Boletus boletuses love moist soils and short grass. The forest can be any, but the obligatory 'neighbor' of these delicious mushrooms should be the aspen growing nearby.

Boletus boletus are just as fiercely upholding their name, in any birch forest you will find their clearing: among the sparse trees on a hill – specimens with thick legs and a dense cap, in a 'dense' forest with moist soil – light boletus with a loose 'body'.

Pine forests were chosen not only by porcini mushrooms, but here boletus, mushrooms, chanterelles, russula, greenfinches and others are happily popping out of the ground.

Well, here you have studied the necessary information, gathered, arrived at the selected forest and went. Go, look, but there are still no mushrooms. Why are there no mushrooms?

There may be several reasons:

There has been no good rain for a long time. The mushroom box needs moisture and a comfortable temperature to start bearing fruit. During a drought, she simply has no where to get the strength to help her wards grow up. No wonder they say about a heavy downpour: “Oh, it's a mushroom rain.” Therefore, it is worth planning your hunting trip taking into account the weather forecast.

You look bad. Inexperienced mushroom pickers are looking for mushrooms, looking into the distance with hope. So you can find only large and old specimens, and the young and strong ones will remain under your feet – side by side in the grass. Actively, but carefully wield the stick so as not to miss the treasure.

In recent days, the weather has been cloudy and cool. Mushrooms grow very quickly. Most reach a decent size in three to five days, and some manage to grow a couple of centimeters even within one day. But this requires favorable conditions: first of all, warm weather.

You look for mushrooms in the evening. Mushrooms grow fastest at night, so in the morning it is already possible to collect 'young growth'. Experienced mushroom pickers do just that – they go to the forest before lunch. When in the evening lovers of quiet hunting gather in the same forest, it will be quite difficult for them to find something: those mushrooms that have been collected, and new ones have not yet grown.

Now you are prepared and armed, it is quite possible to go for the ingredients for a delicious dinner.
