Fractured fiber (Inocybe rimosa)

External description Hat 3-7 cm in diameter, pointed-conical at an early age, later practically open, but with a rather sharp hump, splitting, clearly radially fibrous, ocher to dark brown. Brownish or olive yellow plates. Smooth whitish ocher or white leg, clavate-widened at the bottom, 4-10 mm thick and 4-8 cm long. Elliptical, smooth dirty yellow spores, 11-18 x 5-7.5 microns.

Edibility Fibrous fiber is deadly poisonous! Contains the poison muscarine.

Habitat Often found in coniferous, mixed and deciduous forests, in apiaries, on the sides of paths, in forest glades, in parks.

Season Summer-autumn.

Similar species Inedible fine-haired fibula, distinguished by dark scales on the cap, white edges of the plates and red-brown top.
